Competitive Summer Recreation League

This 7-week recreation league is for intermediate to advanced players who are ready for friendly competition. Come get more touches and put your skills to work and improve your volleyball IQ. Once registered, you will receive the link to register for evaluations, if you are new to ACES or 3+ months removed. Evaluations are on May 28.
Advanced Criteria: consistent overhand serve, capable of passing to target, moves instinctively during play and communicates effectively.

ACES summer volleyball school teaches volleyball skills through drills and game-like scenarios. Each week players will practice different elements of the game and begin to establish a foundation. Players will work in small groups with coaches. Execution of good mechanics and technique, such as awareness of holding platform or ball control, is encouraged. We train our players and build their skills in our Volleyball School. When players are ready, they may try-out for Texas Volleyball Club.

ACES Summer Volleyball School - Tryout Prep is a for 7th - 10th graders players new or fairly new to volleyball. This session is geared to those who desire to try out for school team. An emphasis is on serving, passing, transition and game play. We train our players and build their skills in our Volleyball School. When players are ready, they may try-out for Texas ACES Volleyball Club.
Advanced Criteria: consistent overhand serve, capable of passing to target, moves instinctively and communicates effectively. NOTE: If the skill level does not meet advance criteria athlete will be removed and if spots are available, they will be added to correct group.

Defensive passing - digging - blocking
This clinic will help athletes understand why it is important to be in the right place at the right time. Being so can result in a block which will slow down a hard-hit ball that leads to a perfect pass! As well as learn other skills to be an effective defensive player. An emphasis will be placed on anticipation.

Defense wins championships - Are you ready to up your defensive game? Register for camp and learn to read hitters, make sure to "set your feet" before passing and learn the importance of anticipation.

Offense serving - hitting - setting
Offensive wins games... but it is necessary to consistently get the ball over the net. This camp will focus on serving, setting and hitting . Proper footwork, good ball contact along with mechanics are crucial to being successful.

Offense serving - hitting - setting
This camp will teach and challenge you to play strategically when executing offensive skills. Aggressive unexpected balls will cause the opponent to make errors. Offensive does win games and the team with the least mistakes WINS!!!

Elementary Volleyball Camp

This camp is for young athletes. During the two days players will touch on aspects of the game such as serving, passing, setting, hitting and court movement. Skills will be introduced using age-appropriate fun engaging drills in a "game like manner". An emphasis will be placed on mechanics and techniques.

School tryouts are right around the corner come out and sharpen to polish up. Learn what you need to focus on for a consistent overhand serve, how to break serve receive and proper blocking mechanics. After this clinic you will walk away confident and prepared for school tryouts.

Wednesday Volleyball skills
Session 1 and 2 will cover 1-2 skills. Participants will have a lot of reps with skills on Wednesday. Mechanics and techniques will be scrutinized during Wednesday's training.
Individuals in Wednesday Skills should demonstrate an "intermediate" skill level.
This program is meant to be fast paced. Session 1 will prepare participates for Session 2.
Recreation League is to begin playing and learning defense and offense play.

ACES summer camp is designed to introduce students to the sport. The 4-day camp will introduce aspects of the game and touch on basic skills. We focus on fundamentals to establish a foundation and begin to develop a passion for volleyball.
