Volleyball Tryouts: More Than Just Making the Team

Volleyball tryouts are more than a chance to make a roster—they’re the start of a commitment to growth, teamwork, and development. At Texas ACES Volleyball Club (TAVC), we believe that success is built through consistent effort, clear expectations, and strong partnerships between coaches, players, and families.
We held our summer tryouts on June 21, and we’re thrilled with the level of talent and energy we’ve seen so far. Our teams are filling up quickly, and we’re especially excited to launch our first-ever U16 team this season—a major step forward as our players grow with us.
One of the most important parts of a successful club experience is family commitment. That means making sure athletes are on time to practices, that training and team responsibilities are prioritized, and that players are supported both on and off the court. When families are invested, athletes thrive.
It’s also essential to trust the process. Not every athlete starts at the same level—but with time, consistency, and the right coaching, they can develop in powerful ways. Our coaches work to build strong foundations, focusing on fundamentals, mindset, and team play. Parents who support that process help their athlete go further.
As a young and growing program, TAVC is currently in a developmental phase. It’s not a label we chase—it’s simply where we are as we continue to grow and establish our presence in the competitive club volleyball world. Our goal is clear: to become a respected, established name. And we’re moving closer every season. This year is a turning point.
This will be our breakthrough season. We’ve added five experienced, passionate coaches to our staff this summer, each bringing valuable knowledge and a high standard of teaching. With new leadership, improved systems, and returning athletes and coaches, we’re ready to raise the bar across every age group.
We focus on developing players—not just filling teams. We take pride in pulling out potential, building confidence, and preparing athletes for long-term success. Our foundation is strong, and we’re growing with intention and purpose.
Looking ahead, second tryouts for U11 and U12 will take place on August 16, after the school season begins. For U13 through U16, tryouts are scheduled for October 4. These sessions are not only evaluations—they’re also a chance for athletes and families to experience the TAVC difference and see where their journey might begin.
If your athlete is ready to train hard, grow their skills, and be part of a rising program—we’d love to see them at tryouts. To register, fill out this form.
Texas ACES Volleyball Club is building something special—and this season, it’s all coming together.
